Andrew Lacy Invited to Present a Philadelphia Bar Association CLE on Reverse Discrimination

Andrew Lacy, Jr., founder of The Lacy Employment Law Firm, was invited to serve as a panelist for a Philadelphia Bar Association continuing legal education (CLE) program, “The Rise in Reverse Discrimination Cases.” The program was approved for CLE credit and is part of how the nation’s oldest bar association educates practicing attorneys on emerging issues in employment law.

The oldest bar association in the country

Founded in 1802, the Philadelphia Bar Association is the oldest association of lawyers in the United States and America’s first chartered metropolitan bar association. With roughly 12,000 members, it is the group that attorneys, judges, and public officials in the region have looked to for more than two centuries for guidance on significant legal questions. Being asked to help teach a CLE for an organization of this standing is not something a firm can buy or apply for. It reflects a judgment by the profession about whose perspective is worth hearing.

Seated alongside leading employment authorities

Andrew was selected to join a panel that included a professor of law from Rutgers Law School, a moderator from Littler Mendelson (one of the largest management-side labor and employment firms in the world), and a partner and chief diversity officer from Archer & Greiner. On a panel weighted toward management-side defense counsel and academia, Andrew was invited to bring the plaintiff and employee-side perspective, the viewpoint of the workers his firm represents every day.

Why this matters

CLEs are how lawyers teach other lawyers. An invitation to present one is a signal that peers regard the presenter as a credible voice on the subject. Andrew also serves as President of the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association, is a graduate of Cornell Law School, and clerked for the Honorable Cathy Bissoon of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Earlier in his career he represented employers, and he now puts that insight to work for employees.

The Lacy Employment Law Firm represents employees in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage matters in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and throughout New Jersey. To speak with our team, visit our website.
