You generally show three things: you engaged in a protected activity, you suffered an adverse action, and there is a causal link – most often timing. A negative action that lands soon after your complaint is powerful evidence. Strengthen it by documenting the date you complained, who knew about it, your performance before and after, and any shift in how you were treated. Keep everything in writing.
