through litigation. He also gained trial experience as a Certified Legal Intern at the Office of the Public Defender of Allegheny County, where he conducted preliminary hearings and observed criminal trials throughout the county.
Richard earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he received a full-tuition Dean’s Scholarship. During law school, he was a Cash Prize Winner in the school’s annual Mock Trial Competition and served as a Teaching Assistant for both Contracts and Civil Procedure. He also gained practical experience through the Health Law Clinic, where he represented clients in guardianship proceedings and successfully argued motions in court.
Prior to law school, Richard earned a Master of Public Policy from the University of Erfurt’s Willy Brandt School of Public Policy in Germany and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy from Kent State University.
Richard is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and formerly held a Texas Designated Home State Insurance Adjuster’s License, which allowed him to adjust employment practices liability claims in all U.S. states and territories.
