Ethan Underwood, Esq.
Ethan Underwood is an attorney at The Lacy Employment Law Firm, where he represents employees in discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases. His practice encompasses both litigation and pre-litigation matters, advocating for workers whose rights have been violated in the workplace. Ethan brings valuable courtroom experience and a strong dedication to client advocacy to every case he handles.
Ethan’s litigation background includes substantial trial advocacy experience, including competing at the National Trial Advocacy Competition in Detroit as part of the Pitt Law Intercollegiate Mock Trial team. His practical courtroom skills were further honed through his work with the Securities Arbitration Clinic at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he represented small investors in disputes before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). In this role, he drafted pleadings and discovery requests, represented clients at hearings, and successfully negotiated settlements on their behalf.
Prior to joining The Lacy Employment Law Firm, Ethan gained significant litigation experience at Mansmann and Moore, LLP, where he handled pre-hearing preparation for social security, workers compensation, and ERISA cases. He conducted client intake interviews, drafted briefs and memoranda, and worked closely with the courts in filing various legal documents.
Ethan also served as a Judicial Intern to Judge Mary Jane Bowes at the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, where he prepared court decisions and opinion memoranda across multiple areas of law and observed numerous oral arguments and trial proceedings.
Ethan earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he was a declared student of the John P. Gismondi Civil Litigation Concentration. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.
Ethan is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and is an active member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Allegheny Bar Association, and Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association.
