As a law student at Cornell, founder, Attorney Andrew Lacy, made a promise to himself to help people.  Yet he followed the majority of his classmates to work at a large international law firm.

Large law firms provide the best training ground for young employment lawyers.  They take the smartest law students.  They represent the biggest companies.  And only large companies can afford to hire them.

After years of seeing plaintiffs go up against large companies, Attorney Lacy decided to leave corporate law behind and start his own law firm; this time representing the people, not corporations.

He renewed his promise to himself.

Employers cannot fire you based on your membership in a protected class.  A protected class is a group of employees that share common characteristics (race, gender, sex, national origin, etc.).

UPMC Physician Group Must Face Ex-Doc's Age Bias Claims

The Lacy Employment Law Firm represented a 70-year-old emergency physician terminated after a 30-year career at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. Internal emails revealed hospital leadership referred to Dr. Chreky as “dead wood” and secretly recruited a younger replacement while manufacturing a paper trail to justify the termination. After aggressive discovery and oral argument, the firm defeated the employer’s motion for summary judgment in the Western District of Pennsylvania, sending the age discrimination case to trial. This case demonstrates the firm’s ability to uncover hidden evidence of age discrimination and hold major healthcare systems accountable under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA).

EEOC Employee's Suit Over Failed Promotion Ends In Mistrial

The Lacy Employment Law Firm served as trial counsel for a 24-year EEOC veteran who was passed over for promotion in favor of a less experienced male colleague she had personally trained and supervised. Evidence showed the selecting official intervened with HR to qualify the favored candidate, stacked the interview panel with his close associate, and later admitted he had “groomed” the selected candidate for the role. The firm tried the case before a federal jury in the Eastern District of Louisiana, exposing how the nation’s own anti-discrimination agency violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This case reflects the firm’s willingness to take on powerful federal agencies and try complex employment discrimination cases to verdict.
